Hall of Fame second baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1945 – 1956 and again 1961 – 1963. Later became the Cardinals’ manager and took the team to Two World Series in 1967 and 1968, winning in 1967. Other teams – New York Giants and Milwaukee Braves. Inducted into Hall of Fame 1989.
